Stepping Stones Preschool Program Options

For the 2012-2013 school year

Stepping Stones is a Christian preschool where every child has a chance to learn and grow. Our mission is to help our students prepare for elementary school both academically and socially. Classes meet from September 2011 through May 2012. Each of our classes consists of 10-12 students and one teacher. A floating aide is available when a teacher or student needs extra help. In addition, we have an Alphabet Teacher who works with every class for 20 minutes each school day.

MT Transition Class – Children must turn 3 years old no later than January 31, 2013. They must be potty trained by the start of school. This class is an introduction to school with a balance between learning and social play time. This class meets:
  • Mon./Tues. from 9:15 am to 12:00 noon
PM Transition Class – Children turning 3 with birthdates falling between July 2012 and January 2013. They must be potty trained by the start of school. This class is an introduction to school with a balance between learing and social play time and meets one additional day than our MT class. This class meets:
  • Wed./Thurs./Fri. from 12:30 pm to 3:15 pm
3 year olds – Children must turn 3 years old no later than September 30, 2012. They must be potty trained by the start of school. Each 3 year old class lets the children experience the joy of learning and making new friends in school, combined with academics to their school day. Classes meet:
  • Mon./Tues. from 9:15 am to 12:00 noon
  • Wed./Thurs./Fri. from 9:15 am to 12:00 noon
  • Wed./Thurs./Fri. from 12:30 pm to 3:15 pm
4 year olds – Children must turn 4 years old no later than September 30, 2012. Each 4 year old class gives students various opportunities to help them prepare for Kindergarten. Teachers focus on both academic and social kindergarten readiness skills. Classes meet:
  • Tues./Wed./Thurs./Fri. from 9:15 am to 12:00 noon
  • Tues./Wed./Thurs./Fri. from 12:30 pm to 3:15 pm
Pre-K class – Children must turn 5 years old no later than December 31, 2012. Priority is given to children who turn 5 prior to September 30, 2012. This class has a strong emphasis on academics and will include reading groups, music time, cultural activities, additional field trips and lunch bunch every Monday. Classes meet:
  • Mon. 9:15am – 1pm and Tues./Wed./Thurs./Fri. from 9:15 am to 12:00 noon.
Extended Day Options
  • Music Class – Our music program is a music and movement class where the children have an opportunity to sing, move and try many different instruments. Classes meet once a week. Morning students stay until 1 pm and afternoon students arrive early at 11:25am. Classes will be offered to 2 day a week students on Tuesday, and to our 3, 4, and 5 day a week students on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.
  • Lunch Bunch – Students bring their own bag lunch and eat with a teacher. Morning students stay until 1 pm and afternoon students arrive early at 11:25am. This program is available for 2 day a week students on Monday, and our 3, 4, and 5 day students on Friday. Please remember we are a peanut butter and peanut free school.
  • Hands On Program [Math & Science] This class meets Tuesday through Friday afternoons, and is available to AM students ONLY and with priority to our 4 year old students first. Children bring their lunch and stay until 3:15pm for an afternoon of fun and learning.
