Arrival and Dismissal
A staff member will be at the door to admit children from 9:05 to 9:20 for the AM sessions and from 12:20 to 12:30 for the PM session. For safety reasons please do not drop off your child if no one is at the door. If you will be arriving after the drop off time please park and bring your child into the office to check in prior to going to class. Our experience shows that when a child is dropped off at the entrance, even when they are upset, they quickly adjust. It is easier on a child to leave than to be left.
AM children will be dismissed at approximately 11:55 am, PM children at 3:10 pm. There will be several staff members at the door to assemble the children, open the car doors and assist the children with buckling their car seats. If someone other than the parent or regular carpool is picking up a child, it is necessary for the parent to send a note of that effect to the school office. Children who are still here after the pick-up line is cleared will be brought into the office where the parents may pick them up. A late fee of $20 will be charged to all parents who arrive after 12:20 pm or 3:30 pm.
Kiss n Ride Safety
All children are to be let out and picked up under the awning at the entry of the church. For safety reasons parents should form a single line of cars. In order to prevent injury or harm to a child all cars must wait their turn in line. Under NO circumstances should a car pull around another car in the line. For the safety of your child no one will be permitted to cross the line of cars until every car is loaded and has pulled away. If you need to pick up your child early please make sure that you do so at least 15 minutes prior to the dismissal of school or you will be expected to join the Kiss n Ride line. Unless there is a true emergency, please do not cross the Kiss n Ride line to come into the building to pick up your child. Please make sure that whoever will be picking up your child is aware of these safety guidelines.
Every child will be assigned a Kiss n Ride number. This tag should be hung from the cars’ rearview mirror with the number facing out. A staff member will be stationed at the door to help line the children up in the appropriate order. When the child’s name is called they will go to their car where another staff member will assist them in buckling their car seat or seat belt. All parents are expected to participate in Kiss n Ride and we encourage parents to team up in carpools. Remember to please send in a written note to the office if your child is to be picked up by someone other than yourself or the regular carpool driver.
